Upon reflection, I have decided that I have goals on 4 separate fronts that require balance between each other. The 4 aspects of life that I am actively or not so actively trying to improve on. In no particular order
1. Work. This is actually going quite well. At times I wish the business endevour would move forward faster, but it’s a catch 22 situation: I need money so I do other work, if the business was already generating money then I wouldn’t, etc. All in all, things are going well on this front. Freelance stuff is going great, my interest levels in all fields I’m in remains strong, even if my time is sporadic. I could apply myself a bit more consistently, but hey, all is aiight.
2. Physical. I’ve been so fucking inexcusably lazy. I virtually never go to the gym anymore, fall in and out of cycles of exercises that I do from my physio, and never reapply this knee taping stuff she taught me. Inexcusable and lazy, especially considering I’m lucky to be where I am with the progress I have made in the past.. and now I’m just sitting there doing nothing. Lazy ass.
3. Social. Things are pretty good on this front. I still feel I have enough time to get out enough nights a week to see people, do stuff, all is well. I went through a time of excess on this front, now it’s more normal now. I do have plans to subtly introduce a ‘casual social’ concept into the cofa gang. At the moment social interaction there is too hinged on the formal, organised, heavy time invested events. Covertly looking to get back into organising stuff in that world again perhaps. Anyhow all in all, plans are there, and things are going aiight.
4. Meeting new people. Dead, zero, nada. Now that uni is over, this is tough. I dont really meet new people through my current work situations. Friends of friends are drying up. I’m not the sporting type, or a church go-er, or part of those kind of ‘old style’ social interaction structures. Need to meet new people to stay fresh, and for a single guy to meet new girls obviously
This is going to require some creativity to do much about.
So that’s how it lies, 2 good/great, 2 terrible. Balance is a bitch to get, but today is the first time I’ve been able to outline my goal fronts like that, so it’s a little clearer. Suggestions on the latter would be cool
In other news I might be going to the UK in august if I can get my act together.. and make it all happen. Staying with family, should be fairly cheap. I just need a laptop, a ticket over there, and huzzah! More on this later

Been a rough past couple of days. The night before last, I got home from a quick coffee run at 1.30 in the morning.. then had to get some work done that night.. only to get up later that morning, go to work (freelance project)… FINALLY got home 9pm that night. Tough day, really. It was worth it though, cos its ALL DONE
Client absolutely loves it, and wants more things made like it down the track. Cool, that’s an option, but we’ll be asking for a lot more money next time
So yeah got home at 9, was beat. Pushed on and went out last night though, which turned out to be a fantastic cap off to the week. Arrived just before everyone was leaving the summit for a quick drink there, then off to the old reliable and cheap Jacksons for some fun there. Tipsy sega rally, and drunk popcorn-covered dance floor’ing to jimmy z live. It’s a refreshing change to go somewhere which has music I like. Lately its either been house parties, quiet pubs and bars, or larger places but not really my music style. An R&B heavy club would have been great, but this was a similarly good win… even if everyone other than Morgan and I stayed downstairs and watched the soccer…. lame!
Anyhow a good night, and it was good to chat to some of the guys with an actual full on drinking night for a change. None of this pussy driving home drinking, w00t. I enjoyed anyhow. Props to fiona for organising something she wasn’t able to come out to, dedication

This last week has been pretty full on. The freelance work I’m doing is one day away from completion (tomorrow morning till night). ****** work is ramping up, all the planning is done, I’ve just gotta code it, hopefully over this weekend. Reformatted and reinstalled my OS/apps/all that fun the other day, and when combined with power outs one afternoon/night, it took quite a while to get everything back up and running. Thankfully it is!
So going out for coffee is the new maccas run, though unfortunately less with hooj, hopefully we’ll be able to ammend that. Tonights run was good. Maisys does an awesome sticky date pudding
Then tmr is the big drinks night at the summit. I plan on sneaking away eventually to Jacksons, where Jimmy Z is going to be on for a while. Lets just say that’s being playing really loud in my car lately
Caught up with an old high school buddy earlier this week.. haven’t seen him in 3.5 years omg. Steve, we were in roll call together for like.. eternity. It’s amazing to look back at the time. In some ways, people have changed a lot (he’s totally found direction, linked a passion to a career path, and is on his way). In some ways, people dont (we still managed to talk about FF7 for like half an hour - we both had dreams of working at squaresoft back in the day
Hopefully more rockin times ahead. Should catch up with this school group faction at some point, they hang out regularly still apparently.
The week is nearly over. Long weekend to recover. The freelance work is nearly over. ***** work to do while recovering. Busy times followed by a better mix. I’ll have next week ‘off’ from commercial work, then back to it the following two weeks. Hopefully my ****** work will be done before that ramps up much! Road trip for the long weekend
Oh, and I wanna go overseas soon. Like in a couple of months. We’ll see how that goes…

Going through a phase of procrastinating on work and not really getting into the nights out much. On one hand I seem to be going out more often, and I have more work to do in the day, but strangely its not really balancing out in reality very well. So this week, time to get my arse into gear:
-Work hard, work the long hours to get up to speed on my schedule! Motivation is key, but really I’ve just gotta get things into gear
-Party hard. I need to get really drunk sometime soon, cos its been a while. Also probably drive less.. the good thing about having a full licence is being about to have a couple and drive.. but it limits your night then. When I get more money, the *obvious* solution is drink more and cab
-Looking at the bigger picture more, passing by smaller issues
-Speak my mind more. Lately I get the feeling I surpress it too much to fit in with whatever direction the conversation is. I think it stems from trying to impress people work wise, comes into trying to keep it all smiles socially. Need a balance of pseudo-arguments to keep the balance
-Go to the gym more! lazy arse hahaha
So a week from now, I’ll review and see how things are. Focus!
